The hearts of DeadBase, Jr. and DeadBase
IX are the setlists. Ths paramount section chronicles the 2,267 shows
and 35,294 songs in the DeadBase archive. We have erred on the side of caution,
requiring more than a tape label to certify a song list, and have disproved
many lists and dates commonly associated with some tapes from the sixties.
Most features of the song lists are self-evident. Titles have been shortened
in the interest of space; while we have used common abbreviations, the full
titles can be found in the Songs Played chapter. Any date with asterisks
surrounding the "location," such as album release dates and other
significant events, is not considered to be a show and has not been figured
into the statistics.
The comment lines contain several types of information such as the identification
of additional artists and other noteworthy events at the show. Significant
song occurrences are indicated as follows: "first 'Bird Song'"
or "last 'Truckin': 09-28-75 [77]."
